 Well what a week,

we seem to have got over the blues from the World cup and we now look forward to 6 weeks summer holidays.

We hope you will pay us a visit and continue to use our garden which is looking really good thanks to the hard work our gardener is putting in.

At the moment with the weather like it is there is no better place to enjoy our food and great beer and we hope it stays like this for the coming holidays.

In my last blog I said that Aga was off on her bike ride to Paris to raise money for Christian Aid and although she is not back yet we have heard she has had a great time.

Hopefully when she returns we will get her to write a little note on Louise's blog to let you know what she got up to so please look out for that it, should make interesting reading.

Any way thank you all for your continuing support and we look forward to welcoming you to The Boat soon.

Regards Gary

Ps Christmas Menu out mid to late August, i hope ! and also don't forget the fund raiser on August Bank Holiday

Welcome one and all to my blog entry for this week .

We have kicked off the week with a great Sunday and also a good Monday so things are looking good and we are now working towards our fund raiser on August Bank Holiday Monday that will help raise money for Christian Aid

We say good bye to Aga for a few days as she is off on her cycle ride to Paris to raise money also for Christian Aid and so we wish her well and hope she enjoys herself even if she will be cycling 7/8 hrs a day.

Our menu continues to evolve and we have now taken the Lamb Shoulders off and replaced them with Lamb Racks  which seem to be just as popular.

Also we have had some very nice line caught and boat tagged Wild Sea bass from a Boat called The Skin Dipper this has been well recieved and we will look out for it next time it is avaliable.

We have started buying some of our fish from a program called The British Skipper Scheme which help our skippers from around our coast line to maintain a good living and also supply us with top quality produce. If you Google the said scheme you should be able to read up on it (that's if you want to ).

Any way thats enough for now must get on with my ordering and so we look forward to seeing you up here at The Boat, happy dinning.

Gary

Hello everyone and welcome to another week at The Boat,

Well we start off the week with some very welcome rain and although that might seem like i am being a bit of a killjoy i have an allotments and i can tell you that it really needs a prolonged bout of the wet stuff.

Some of my produce has found its way to The Boat and anybody who had some of the kale over the weekend would have had the chance to tried some of the said food..

The World Cup has drawn to an end and we now look forward to kicking on into the summer, as i said we are planning to have a big fund raising event on bank holiday Monday so look out for more info on this from about the 1st week of August.

The menu is being updated and changed on a daily basis and so it means that we can take advantage of any daily specials offered to us by our suppliers (the fish by the way is great at the moment and that is all down to one of our supplier's on the coast Kingfisher of Brixham)

Any body coming to The Boat might like to know that if you ring up you may be able to order special items depending on avalibility.

Any way thats about it for now happy eating and we look forward to seeing you soon

Regards Gary

Well it has been a very, very, very, long time since I wrote my last blog and for that I do apologize.Things have been busy here and so the blog was put on the back burner.

So here we are in July and The Boat seems to be ticking along very nicely the garden has been busy during the hot weather and the selection of fish that we have on offer is varied and well balanced.

For example today we have Lemon Sole, Swordfish, Cod fillet with buttered samphire,Seabass and Hake fillet to name but a few which have all been supplied from fishing boat to table with in 24 hours from Kingfisher in Brixham via Openshaws.

We are constantly updating the menu with new ideas so why not pay us a a visit or pull up the menu on the web site so as to keep in touch with what we are up to.

On a forward thinking point we are going to have a fund raising day on August bank holiday so if you fancy joining us put the date in your diary and more details will follow later in July or earley August.

Any way bye for know and will blog sometime next week

Regards Gary

Well hello to everybody out there in snowy and icey land,

it has been quite a month since my last entry which I must say is not what I intended to do this year, but in my defence (as I did promise in January of this year that I would make an entry every 10 days !) it has been a terrific month with the pub being very busy and lots of people having a great time.

So here we are 4 days from christmas with snow and ice around us and lets be a little light hearted about this, even if it is causing us a liitle or in some cases a lot of  inconveinence it do's make it feel much more like christmas is around the corner.

Anyway back to the pub, as I said we have had and are still having a really good few weeks, thanks to all of you who have paid us a visit and I would just like to say how great the atmosphere has been during that time.

We as you can expect are extremly busy over the next few days and Boxing day is looking great as well. If you would like to book a table for next week please give us a call and we would be only to pleased to help you.

Also with a few events coming up in the New Year look out for information from me soon.

And with that all it needs now is for me to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Great New Year.

Until next time Bye for now

Regards Gary

Hi everyone,

sorry it has been so long since my last blog but things just got away from me and here we are on 17th November and we are starting to get the Christmas menu ready.

Christmas it's self is looking good and many of the gaps that were empty are starting to fill up. We do have spaces avaliable though so if you are looking for a venue for you Christmas get together then give us a call and we we will see what we can do.

If you need a menu go to our menu page and you will be able to print off copy's of both the Christmas menu and also the Party table menu. When you have had a good look, give us a bell and we will help you arrange it.

Away from Christmas we are looking at arranging a Gourmet evening and we think this will be on 2nd February 2010 we just need our Wine supplier to confirm if they are able to attend. We will let you know via the web site as soon as we can that the date has been confirmed.

That's about it for now but keep checking back so as to keep up to date with what is going on.

Looking forward to seeing you this Christmas

Regards Gary

Well it's been just over a week since the Christmas menu was posted and some of you i know have taken a look and seem to like it.

As i said it can be printed off so please feel free to do so, then contact us for a booking so as not to be diappointed.

On that point we are starting to book certain nights up so if you don't want to miss out please give us a call early and we will see what we can do.

We have over the last few weeks been recieving soom very good fish and so the menu is heavy on fresh fish at the moment .

Venison has started to come on line (From Scotland) and this is also very good we are it serving with Blackcurrant jus and Parsnip crisps.

A bit of chef news, we have just employed a new chef  his name is Phil and like all of us a little hello from any of you to welcome him to the team would be nice and i am sure he would appreciate it.

Anyway thats about it for now so what ever you do this week enjoy it and if you get chance pop up and see us.

Bye for now Gary

Well hello everybody

what a lovely day it is today so I thought  i would let you all know that from today you will be able to print a copy of our new christmas menu from this web site.

If you are intrested in coming to dine with us then please go to the menu link on our web page and print one from there.

Also as we are talking christmas don't forget that we are open on boxing day, so if you don't want to be disapointed in not being able to get booked in please give us a call and make a reservation now.

As for dining before christmas please pop in and see us,as we will be trying out some of the dishes on the christmas menu leading up to the menu going live on Saturday 28th November.

Hello all,

Well my idea of up dating my blog every 10 days lasted till September so I guess thats not to bad.

Things here are going well and a month after I said it would ,the Christmas menu will be on the web site by the end of the week.

Please feel free to download a copy and if you are needing to book a large table please give us a ring so as we can discuss requirements.

I am afraid that because we have been so busy during September we have not been able to organize The Gourmet evening for this month so we are postponing it until January watch out fot details later in the year.

Finally we are open on Boxing Day for the first time.

If you are looking for somewhere to come and  relax and have a bite to eat why not ring up and book a table.

Anyway thats it for now must go and get on
